SNP 101: Your Student’s School Lunch Program
School Nutrition Plus is pleased to be providing school lunch to the students of Santa Monica Boulevard Community Charter School. Our food is freshly prepared and cooked from scratch by Chefs. Since 2009, we have taken great pride in our menu and the quality ingredients we use to create innovative school lunch entrees and salads that students love (“Yum!”) and parents appreciate (“It’s healthy!”).
We believe in our communities and make every effort to support our farmers by using local produce. Currently, we serve produce from Kingsburg Orchards, Stillwater Orchard in Courtland, broccoli from Santa Maria (perfect for our new Asian broccoli salad!), and carrots from Kern Ridge in Arvin, CA.
SNP’s menus, planned by chefs and Registered Dietitians, change monthly with new menu items being added regularly. They feature 2 delicious daily options: a “regular” and vegetarian choice. Regardless of which you choose, you can be sure your child will receive a National School Lunch Program (NSLP) compliant meal. What does that mean?
The nutrient content of items such as chicken tenders, pizza, and hamburgers we serve in our schools is different than those sold in fast food restaurants because of NSLP limits on calories, fat, saturated fat and sodium.
Our goal is to ensure students are provided with quality school lunches that fuel their growing minds and bodies. Please contact us should you have any further questions: firstname.lastname@example.org
